I’m Dan Kiehl, an in-house compliance attorney in the Atlanta area. I build and run compliance programs for a defense engineering firm, covering:
- Export controls: ITAR, EAR, and DOE’s 10 CFR Part 810
- CMMC Level 2 and CUI: program design, enclave scoping, assessment readiness
- Industrial security: facility clearances and FSO duties under NISPOM
- Privacy: U.S. and EU frameworks
I hold a JD from Valparaiso University School of Law and the CIPP/US, CIPP/E, and CIPM certifications.
I like building programs from nothing and figuring out how the rules actually work, not just what they say. This site is where I write that down.
